Heat pumps capture heat from the air, ground, or water to provide heating and cooling in your home. Because they transfer heat and don't have to create it they are much more cost efficient.
Ground-source heat pumps circulate water through underground pipes. In winter months the water absorbs heat from the earth and carries it to the heating unit concentrating it and spreading the heat throughout your home. In summer months heat is removed from your home and put into the earth as a reverse process. This system can also be integrated to your water heater providing low-cost hot water.
Air-source heat pumps are versatile in that they are efficient heating and economical air conditioning systems. Heat is moved using a refrigerant and coils. In winter the unit outside captures natural heat from the air and transfers it to the inside unit where it is amplified and spread throughout your home. Again, in summer months this method is reversed pulling heat and humidity from your home, leaving it cool and comfortable.
