Energy Efficiency Rebates Program
Effective January 1, 2010
Harrison County Rural Electric Cooperative “Rebate” program, as it relates to our “Switch Makes Cents” program, is available to any member/owner of the Cooperative, according to the following schedule and list of circumstances.

Geothermal Heat Pumps - Rebates are $1,800/unit or $2,000/unit with a desuperheater. Units can be new construction or replacement and must meet minimum Energy Star requirements as follows:
- Direct Expansion - COP of 3.5 or greater, EER of 15 or greater
- Open loop - COP of 3.6 or greater, EER of 16.2 or greater
- Closed loop - COP of 3.3 or greater, EER of 14.1 or greater
Water Heaters - Rebate of $200/unit for new construction or replacement. Unit must be 50 gallons or larger with 90% or greater energy factor. All units must be controlled.
Central Air Conditioning - Rebates range from $100/unit - $200/unit based on Energy Star rating.
- SEER rating 14.5; $100/unit
- SEER rating 15, but less than 16; $150/unit
- SEER rating 16 and greater; $200/unit
Building Insulation - 30% of cost, Limited to a maximum of $500/building. - Qualifying building must have electric heat.
- Qualifying insulation includes blown-in, insulating concrete forms, rigid Styrofoam panels and/or structural insulated panels.
Appliances - Rebates for Energy Star appliances including: - Clothes washer @ $50
- Refrigerator @ $25
- Freezer @ $25
- Dishwasher @ $25
There is a maximum total appliance rebate per member/consumer of $250.

Air Source Heat Pumps - Rebates range from $400/unit - $600/unit based on Energy Star rating. They can be new construction, replacement, or add-on units. Units must meet the following Energy/Efficiency Energy Star specifications:
- SEER rating 14.5; $400/unit
- SEER rating 15, but less than 16; $500/unit
- SEER rating 16 and greater; $600/unit
The Energy Efficient Equipment for qualifying lifetime warranty water heaters shall be paid only once.
