HCREC 2021 Annual Meeting to be held Virtually!

One of the most important benefits of being part of Harrison County Rural Electric Cooperative (HCREC) is that our members have a voice in how the co-op operates. Each year, during the Annual Meeting, our membership democratically elects three of the co-op’s nine board of directors, who must also be members. These directors serve local interests in governing the cooperative. HCREC is proud to be locally owned and managed and because of that, we can provide the best possible service to our member-owners.

In 2021, members of the cooperative will have an opportunity to attend the annual meeting online. With our annual meeting being held on a virtual platform, HCREC is planning to travel across our system to capture video and photography over several of the upcoming weeks. We will use these photos and videos to highlight projects accomplished over the years. Members who have photos or video that they would like to share are also encouraged to do so by sending them to harrisoninfo@hcrec.coop. Throughout the month of March and up until our official annual meeting date of April 5th, HCREC will be showcasing those photos and videos, introducing our employee group, and discussing important cooperative topics all through our website at www.hcrec.coop. In addition, we encourage our mini-members to participate in our annual coloring contest! Kids of the co-op ages 3 to 11 can show off their artistic talents by submitting the coloring page inside the newsletter.

We know that the coronavirus pandemic has taken its toll throughout our communities, but we are hopeful for a brighter future where we can again host our annual meeting in person for our membership.
