Load Control Switch Light Explanations

  • Posted: 05.29.2019

As the weather gets warmer, HCREC would like to remind its members about load controls and times involved with peak load hours.

Above and right is a photo with explanations of the lights on load control switches that represent different utilities being controlled. Members should keep in mind that older switches only have solid red lights to indicate that utilities are being controlled.

Control Times and Increments

Irrigation Systems are controlled from April to November [3:30pm - 7:30pm (4 hours)]

AC/HVAC Systems are on control sequences [12-15 minutes off and 12-15 minutes on]

Generators are controlled year round in 3 hour increments

Water heaters are controlled year round in 4 to 5 hour increments
