Job Title: Director of Member Services/Economic Development
Location: Harrison County Rural Electric Cooperative (REC)
Position Summary:
The Director of Member Services/Economic Development is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring exceptional service to cooperative members while driving strategic economic growth within the cooperative’s service territory. This position oversees member engagement, key account management, and economic development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Member Services Leadership
Lead and manage the Member Services department to ensure high-quality service delivery and responsiveness to member needs.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance member engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
Manage and maintain the cooperative’s load management program, Switch Makes Cents.
Ensure all activities comply with cooperative policies, industry regulations, and applicable laws.
Prepare and manage departmental budgets, reports, and performance metrics.
Collaborate with other department leaders for various cooperative projects.
Assist members with tasks such as energy audits, billing inquiries, appliance replacements, etc.
Economic Development Strategy
Design and execute economic development initiatives to attract and retain businesses within the cooperative’s service area.
Collaborate with local chambers of commerce, development corporations, and state economic development agencies to promote regional growth.
Monitor legislative and regulatory developments that impact economic development and advocate for cooperative interests.
Key Account Management
Serve as the primary contact for key accounts, addressing concerns and identifying opportunities for partnership and growth.
Maintain strong relationships with commercial and industrial members, ensuring their energy needs are met efficiently and reliably.
Qualifications:
Required minimum of five years of experience in member services, economic development, or electrical utility operations.
Strong organizational, leadership, and team management skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
Proven ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives.
Knowledge of the electric utility industry and cooperative principles is highly desirable.
A valid Drivers’ License is required for occasional business travel.
Other duties as assigned.
